Minor roads |
Main roads |
The A19 |
And if all that was not enough there was even a ...
The farmers were busy in the fields and the rain kept away (most of the time). We stopped at a pub in Danby Whiske (Sherpa Dad's idea) which had a great sign (look at the bottom) ...
Still a long way to go ... |
but on the other side |
Left, right, left, right along the road until we eventually turned into the fields. We then had a five mile walk through fields and farm roads before we had to run (yes run!) across the A19 to our B&B.
At last the end of today's journey |
My feet are very sore and tired (nearly as bad as my Mams) but only three more days to go. Over the Cleveland Hills tomorrow and onto the North York Moors!
Thanks again for all your comments and support.

Highlight of the day: Eventually getting off the roads
Another good entry Caitlin, plenty of experiences there. Fancy having to cross the A19! Just a few days and you`ll be paddling in the sea, picking up your pebble and signing the book! Your fund-raising is looking healthy too : D
ReplyDeletewell done again Caitlin, not long to worry about those aching feet. I know how much of a grind it is when you return to "civilisation" after walking through beautiful scenery like the Lakes. So close now........CMON !!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Caitlin, Just noticed on the TV that in Wainwrights walks Julia bradbury, her of the Wainwright Walks fame, is also doing the coast to coast in the series. She is heading off from Richmond in tonight's show so I will watch it to see if I can make out any of the sights which you have sent me. Keep up the good walk and I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow.

Super work team! Don't worry, the variety of terrain tomorrow will be better for your feet. How's Pad's (feet)pads doing?!
ReplyDeleteNot long now!
